Creating mural gives some Sunshine to Abilene road corner

She had to paint on cinderblock, and go over electrical fixtures and other devices in paint.

But when Tamara Greenway, who goes by Sunshine (her art company is termed Drops of Sunshine Art), was concluded with her first outdoor mural, she preferred what she saw. 

And alongside with thanking a female she appreciates only as Diane for the opportunity, she gave many thanks to God. He served guideline her choices, she said.

Car or truck care to hair care

Like other people in Abilene, this mural appears in an not likely spot. It can be on the south wall of a advantage retail outlet at South Initial Street and South Leggett Drive. That element of the developing after was a vehicle clean.

It is becoming converted to a hair salon (Belle Amé Salon and Boutique) by Diane, who evidently didn’t want the 13 foot by 38 foot wall refreshed with just a single coloration of paint. She wished to promote her salon, but in an artistic way.

Sunshine’s partner, L.J., works with a landscaping outfit. They have mowed in that area and even though speaking the moment with Diane, he stated his spouse was an artist. 

Diane and Sunshine related and the artist was employed to paint the wall.

The undertaking commenced in August and was done a 7 days back. Sunshine painted immediately after her other two element-time jobs, one particular as a member of the 1st Impressions crew at FountainGate Fellowship and the other as an administrative assistant for Elara Caring, a home health care services.

A self-taught artist

The daughter of an airman, born in Idaho and raised in San Angelo ahead of shifting to Abilene when she was 13, Sunshine is a 2006 graduate of Cooper Significant College. She went to Hardin-Simmons for a semester prior to choosing college or university was not her contacting.

The Greenways connect with Merkel home. They have two small children.

And so, mother is occupied. But, she mentioned, a work transform during COVID-19 led to a lot more time on her hands. She turned to painting.
