(Reuters) -Boeing Co said on Monday the head of its large defense division, Leanne Caret, will retire right after almost 35 several years with the aviation business.
Caret, who is 55 decades previous, will be succeeded by Ted Colbert efficient April 1.
Caret oversaw development of the prosperous MQ-25 drone system and the U.S. Air Force’s new schooling jet. She was also in demand of the KC-46 midair tanker, which has been plagued by many issues and price overruns.
Boeing’s defense unit, which has the U.S. government as one particular of its most significant customers, created revenue of $26.5 billion in 2021, overtaking its business plane small business.
Colbert, who now heads Boeing Worldwide Providers, will become president and chief government officer of Boeing’s Protection, Room & Security business. The world-wide services unit handles jet upkeep, fix and overhaul, information analytics and pilot teaching.
Caret, who had taken around the defense and room position in 2016, will serve as executive vice president and senior adviser to Boeing Main Govt David Calhoun, right up until her retirement later this calendar year.
